About Me

My thirst for writing started when I was a child, writing simple stories in rainbow-colored journals. When I manged to figure out how a computer worked, I started typing stories and poems and saving them on floppy disks (remember those?!) Throughout school I continued to write anecdotes both as assignments and for fun. I used to write pages of fiction and pass them to my friends between classes. At age 13, I first had the idea of composing a novel, but didn't really think my writing "had what it took" to make it. It took years away from my pen and my blank document computer screen for me to realize that "having what it takes" doesn't make me an writer- WRITING makes me a writer. It is my dream to bring my stories to life and make my readers feel as much enthusiasm reading my work as I feel while writing.

Disconnect

Woman's Mystery Novel

After a rough divorce, Celia Drake, a former nurse who was fired from her position at the hospital, vows to create a cohesive family without any aid from her ex-husband. Battling depression, paranoia, and unemployment, Celia feels like she's finally mastering the role of single parent. That is, until her older daughter Jessie begins preschool. Celia notices that Jessie is distant towards her baby sister and even ignores her, neglecting her responsibilities as a big sister and preferring to spend time at her new school. Tension rises between mother and daughter, especially after Celia enrolls her in psychologic therapy sessions after school. Initially believing her daughter to be troubled or attention seeking, Celia now finds herself battling for more than just custody of her child. She has to fight for her own sanity. Disconnect is a story of a mother’s love, and how mental illness can turn that love into torture. It details the power of the mind, which creates the reality it wants to see, and even bends the apparent truth surrounding it. It is truly incredible what the mind can create...and also cover up.
